World’s First Vegan Fashion Week to unfold in 2019

A brand new event on the Fashion Colander to look forward this year is Vegan Fashion Week on February 1 to 4. In the biggest city in the United States to ban the use of fur, Los Angeles, the first Vegan Fashion Week is going to commence boasting more than 150 vegan-friendly establishments. PETA has named LA as America’s most vegan city for 2018. As an aside, California is also the first state to demand pet shops sell only rescue animals.
The Vegan Fashion Week promises to bring cruelty-free options to the fashion crowd. The four-day show set up and curetted by Emmanuelle Rienda, an animal-rights activist and vegan fashion stylist, aims to raise awareness of the ethical, social and environmental issues that surround the fashion industry, as well as offering sustainable alternatives.

What is vegan fashion?

Vegan fashion is clothing and accessories made from cruelty-free

sources, i.e. NO Animal Products were used in making the garments

and gear, and no animal was harmed.

Why choose vegan fashion?

Because animals are sentient beings with feelings - just like human animals have feelings. They, too, have the right to live out their lives freely.

Who are vegan fashionistas?

Everyone who conscientiously chooses cruelty-free apparel are vegan fashionistas!

What Products are to avoid for Vegan Fashion?

Leather, Wool, Fur, Down (the very soft feathers from the breasts of ducks and geese), Silk are all to avoid and instead man made fibers are used to replace these animal products.

Museum of Natural History will house the opening of the show with a runway of collections by cruelty-free labels and a talk by climate change scientist Dr Robert Lempert. By relying on new technologies or simply by altering supply chains, cruelty-free alternatives are becoming readily available now-a-days. Consumers around the globe have become aware of the cruelty behind the animal materials like leather and fur. However there is still a certain amount of population blissfully unaware of the agenda.
The number of vegans is at an all-time high, and many are questioning how and where goods are being produced. The full impact of fast fashion is taking its toll on the planet apparently and there is a growing pressure on brands to be accountable for every stage of the manufacturing process, and the backlash to the wear-once culture is beginning to gain traction. In this scenario the Fashion week is just perfectly timed.
